Why are cache hits free?
Cache hits cost us essentially nothing to serve. Making them free means your effective cost per query drops over time as the cache grows.
What happens when I hit my free limit?
Searches return a 429. Cache hits still work (unlimited). Enable pay-as-you-go in your dashboard to keep going — one click.
Will I get surprise charges?
No. Billing is off by default. You set a monthly spending cap (default $10). We hard-stop when you hit it.
How is this different from Tavily?
Tavily charges $0.05 per search. We charge $0.004 — 12x cheaper. Plus, repeated queries hit the cache for free. Tavily charges every time.
